Why Dr. Tengbe Deserves SLPP Flag
Sierra Leone is on a crossroad and whatever happens from now till the next general elections will either make or break the socio-economic landscape of this country. The next general election is the most important election in the history of this country, as both the current generation (majority being youths) and the future generation to a large extent depend on the next President, hence, the need to elect a President who will deliver the goods and transform this country through policies and projects.
The people of Sierra Leone are now clamoring for change and are looking to the SLPP to provide them with a President that will salvage the mismanagement and bad governance system the country is currently facing. When one looks at all the aspirants who have expressed interest to be the flag bearer of SLPP for 2018, one man stands tall amongst them and he is regarded by most party loyalists as the best to lead the party back to State House; that man is Dr. Jonathan Tengbe.
Political Scientists and Analysts have been opining that the SLPP is suffering from leadership crisis and one will agree that any presidential candidate of the party should be in position to heal the cracks and the best to do so is Dr. Tengbe.
The main trust of Dr. Tengbe’s vision and governance structure is to provide goods and services, establish and strengthen our institutions to deliver well and reducing poverty and inequality in Sierra Leone.
He also aims at ensuring economic growth and infrastructural development and, most importantly, focusing on the development of the human capital of this great nation with a view to unleash the potentials of especially the youths to contribute to national development. For Dr. Tengbe, “Government should work for ordinary people”.
Dr. Tengbe is a development expert, a man with untainted and unblemished record. He is a highly qualified infrastructural specialist, whose vision is to improve the standard of living of Sierra Leoneans through infrastructural planning and national development, improve educational sector, reduce unemployment, improve the deplorable health sector and bring industrial development.
Dr. Jonathan Tengbe is the best candidate not only because of his immaculate records but also because of his political and management skills.
Dr.Tengbe knows what the country needs and his ready to deliver. He knows about the wealth of the country, not in platitudes, but in action in government. He is conservative enough to want to use programs that have been tested and proven effective. He is liberal enough to want to end cruel and less effective programs regardless of how they look politically. He is devoted to ensure that the people are the ones in charge of the government, working in the government and served by the government.
