Call to Train More Pathologists

The clarion call was made past Thursday at the Miatta Conference Hall in Freetown when Dr. Koroma was making a presentation on Post-Crash response.
In his power point presentation, the Pathologist highlighted the need for government to invest resources on students who may intend to study Pathology which he described as a very important course that renders service to the dead.
He encouraged medical students to grow interest in pursuing the course at advanced level for the country to have more forensic experts.
However, Dr. Koroma who admitted that his work has to do with dead bodies expressed disappointment over the manner medical students shy away from the course.
He described post- crash response as action to be taken after an accident, be on land, in the air or sea.
The Pathologist stressed the need to facilitate second-responders who are people with specialized knowledge or expertise in taking care of accident victims. In order to facilitate second-responders, he advised that a specific national emergency call line must be established to call them when there is an accident. He spoke on the importance of collaboration among key players reduction of road fatality.
