His Excellency, President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, in his continued drive to empower the youths of this nation deemed it fit to nominate young, popular Freetown-based legal luminary, Kabba Koroma Esq., as Chairman of the National Commission for Privatization Board (NCP).

His unanimous approval on Tuesday 24th January 2016 by the House of Parliament met with no disapproval as Kabba Koroma had already excelled as Chairman of the National Revenue Authority where under his supervision the Authority repeated met and exceeded annual revenue targets.

Sign that Kabba Koroma is a popular man of the people was shown when on the morning before his confirmation by Parliament enthusiastic singing and dancing support groups with banners calling for his endorsement were seen around the Cotton Tree area in central Freetown.

After his confirmation, Lawyer Koroma said: “My new appointment is a fulfillment of President Ernest Bai Koroma’s promise and continued commitment to young people that he believes in them and will empower them as well as give them leadership responsibilities.”

As Chairman of the NCP, Lawyer Koroma will play the lead role in overseeing the privatization and reform of public enterprises, as well as amend, where necessary, laws relating to their establishment and administration.

Lawyer Kabba prior to his new national assignment won the All Works of Life young Legal Practitioner of the Year 2012 award. He has also garnered several awards for meritorious public service. The entire nation wishes him well in his new assignment which plays a crucial role in the country’s quest for economic growth and development.
