Plan International Sierra Leone receives 2016 NGO Award
Country Director Casely Ato Coleman, on Friday 21st October 2016, received the International NGO Leader of the Year Award at the 2016 Sierra Leone Leadership Awards organized by the Sierra Leone Council of Chief Executive Officers at the Hotel Bintumani West of Freetown.
The event is a major national platform in recognition of key personalities, distinguished public and private sector leaders and well performing organizations that have raised the benchmarks of competence and dedication, setting new standards of excellence and innovation and for demonstrating unprecedented levels of leadership in both the public and private sectors in the Country.
The events attracted distinguish guests and recipients of awards from the diplomatic corps, government and business sectors, including banks, and the non-profit sector comprising of non-governmental organizations. The awards were given in three categories, CEO awards, leadership awards, and business awards.
Casely Ato Coleman emerged International NGO leader honouree as the most performing individual in the leadership award category for the year 2016. The citation for the award won by Casely reads as follow: ‘’This award comes in recognition of your exceptional leadership demonstrated, competence and dedication to setting new standards of excellence and innovation, professional ethics in the non profit sector in Sierra Leone.’’
Mr. Coleman in his acceptance speech thanked the Sierra Leone Council of Chief Executives for indentifying Plan International Sierra Leone for the leadership awards. He also gave a special thanks to donors, staff and partners of Plan International Sierra Leone for their partnership in service delivery and their communities in the last 40 years and dedicated the award to all children in Sierra Leone and pledged his continued excellence in program delivery.
