Gibril Kamara (GK) Makes Secret Visit To Freetown

Wanted man Gibril Kamara, popularly known as GK has been making secret visits to Freetown although he is wanted by police for his involvement in the much publicized cocaine plane saga at the Lungi International airport.

Sources have revealed to Sierra Media Express that the alleged cocaine dealer who was later found guilty in absencia was spotted in the central part of Freetown following the outbreak of a coup in Conakry.

“GK comes and goes in and out of the country as he pleases and he has all his business going on in Sierra Leone,” the source said.

Although a wanted notice has been placed with INTERPOL, the International Police, for the arrest of GK. He is said to be moving between Guinean and Sierra Leone with ease.

Work on Gibril Kamara’s unfinished housing projects are also said to be ongoing and that he is in control of his businesses the country. Work on his hotel structure at Aberdeen is also progressing, with all the contractors on his employment list. Information also reveals GK is building a five star hotel in Liberia where he is now said to have moved his business.

Friends of GK who asked not to be named say he is a considerably rich man, and that he is a generous in Port Loko, his birth place.

Life in hiding away from home is however said to be having a serious effect on GK notwithstanding his money, and that he has been looking at ways of appealing to President Ernest Bai Koroma to grant him a reprieve.

Investigations reveal the decision of GK leaving Guinea is also directly related to the clamp down undertaken by Guinean junta leader Captain Moussa Dadis Camara on drug dealers, including people living affluent lives with no business or employment in Conakry.

GK has however continued to maintain his innocence about any involvement even though it is highly believed that the Lungi deal was a deal gone sour over unexpected political intervention.

GK is said to be one of the high dons in the drug deal in Sierra Leone and that he was operating under the past government of President Ahmad-Tejan-Kabbah through a tacit understanding. “This is a deal that was common in this country but it is Ernest that has brought it to an end,” said an indigene of Port Loko who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals.

Port Loko indigenes have been expressing anger at what they see as unfairly targeting their own sons under a government that is supposed to protect their interest.
