With Trans-world Insurance Co, you can go sleep well, just paid Le240M to 16-yr old Boy

Michael Kamara was only 13 years old when he got involved in a road accident with a motor insurer of Trans-world Insurance Company in 2013. The matter was reported to the insurance company involving injury within the limited period of time.  (Photo: Trans-world Insurance Co. CEO Hon. H G. The facts are that the boy got injured by a client of the company and this demands insurance coverage in which the third party was likely going to benefit from the claims. Following protracted negotiations with the relevant authorities and the legal representative of the boy, Elvis Kargbo, both parties were able to establish that a registered and licensed Trans-world Insurance Company motor had caused the accident; and details of the driver’s name and license number including the date, time and location of the accident were identified and the extent of the injuries and costs involved by the client etc.

After thorough briefings and consultation on the matter, the Chairman and Executive Director of the Company thought it good enough to sit down with his management committee to view the situation of their client in respect of their obligations to the public.

After assessing the incident, the company just like before it has settled many other claims from Le 1 – 70 M, decided that someone deserves full compensation for the damages and cost he has gone through.

This is in fulfillment of the fact that people buy insurance to protect themselves from the unexpected such as —illnesses, accidents, property damage, and even natural disasters, comments a senior staff.

Against the background that insurance companies do not pay claims, Trans-world Insurance Company just proved that it cares enough and it is unusual for insurance companies to under-value, under-pay, delay, or even completely deny payment of a claim without proper justification or warning.

For this reason, the company advised in future that it is very important that insurance policy holders understand their legally protected rights. “It’s been a long time since clients of insurance companies hardly go home and sleep hoping that their welfare is well taken care of by insurance companies in the event that they default”, states a member of the beneficiary’s family.

While this is held in view, Trans-world Insurance Company has broken the myth on Tuesday 17th May 2016 when it made a historic payment of Le 240M in a single motor insurance claim.

At a news conference held at the company’s head office on 140 Kissy Road in Freetown, the Chairman and Executive Director welcomed the guests with humility and said that Trans-world Insurance Company has contributed to the welfare of its customers, community and the country with employment and claims benefits.

“We are not against payment of claims, rather we settle legitimate claims and treat others accordingly”, he told his audiences and handed over the cheques to the client’s legal representative.

On behalf of the client, Mr. Elvis Kargbo received the cheques from Hon. Hassan Gbessay Kanu and thanked him for his leadership in demonstrating commitment and courage to honour the claims.

He said Hon. Hassan Gbessay Kanu is an honest man and a humanitarian person who always feels for others. Kargbo heaped praises on the insurance company too for its statutory mandate compliance and urged the general public to have confidence in doing business with it.

The signing of the vouchers in receipt of the cheques and a group photograph climaxed the occasion. Everyone was happy including the staff who cheered up their CEO for making them feel proud and raising up the bar of confidence in the public.
