Am grateful to the President”- VP Foh speaks from Beirut

Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh on Monday 11th April said, his arrival in  Beirut, Lebanon’s capital to represent His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma at the opening of a Consular Office for the country was “a demonstration of confidence that my Boss, the President may have in me.”

He spoke during a telephone interview from his Four Seasons’ Hotel in Beirut, where he arrived with other state officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Samura Kamara, Special Adviser to the Vice President, Dr Jengo Stevens, Manso Samura(VP Office)and Osman Sesay, ADC to the Vice President.

Vice President Foh said, he was in Lebanon “to open our consulate”, which is expected to eventually help in strengthening ties between the two countries especially in the areas of Trade and Culture.

“This opening will help in strengthening bilateral ties between Sierra Leone and Lebanon and ensure further collaboration at the international level, VP Foh assured.

The Vice President arrived in Beirut enroute to Turkey to represent His Excellency the President at the 13th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to be held from 10th to 15th April.

Since his appointment in March 19th 2015, the President, VP Foh said, has given him a lot of opportunities to represent him on state functions both at home and abroad.

In late 2015, he was in Johannesburg, South Africa attending the Sixth Forum On China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit. He also, in 2015, attended the opening of the new Suez Canal in Ismailia, Egypt, amongst other international functions.

Vice President Foh has ever remained grateful to the president “for reposing in me this confidence”, he said, further assuring of working in tandem with the President’s vision for the country’s growth, with a desire to not misplace the  president’s confidence.

He is scheduled to return to Freetown, Friday 15th April from Turkey, Istanbul.
