Village headman detained at CID
The Headman of Gloucester Village, Mr. William Bockarie Kallon, has been detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Freetown for alleged shady land deal.
Sources alleged that since his election as Headman of Gloucester Village, Mr. William Bockarie Kallon has been involved in grabbing lands and selling them to people who are non-indigenes of Gloucester Village.
The streak of the Village Headman was cut short when his land transaction with someone led to the intervention of officers of the CID whom he is now helping with the investigation into another land saga.
It could be recalled that prior to the 2012 elections, Mr. Kallon promised the electorate that if elected, he would develop the community in terms of road network.
It is however ironic that the road network leading to Mr. Kallon’s residence at Loko Town is still in bad shape.
According to residents of Gloucester Village, Mr. Kallon has never made an attempt to mobilize the community towards rehabilitating the road network since his election as Village Headman.
Based on his poor performance as Village Headman, most residents believe that Mr. Kallon would find it extremely difficult to convince them to give him another mandate.
