Deputy minister urges journalists for balanced, accurate information
The Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Theo Nicol, has entreated media practitioners to fully utilize the Right to Access Information Commission as a potent tool for balanced and accurate information to the public.
He disclosed that since the inception of the Commission only thirty requests with one complaint have been sent to the Commission.
Deputy Minister said media practitioners advocated for the right to access information for ten years and it is about time they started good use of it.
He lauded the efforts of the Information Ministry and the Right to Access Information Commission to complete the drafting of the Open Data Potter Policy consisting of 140 pages.
