APC embarks on membership registration in Pujehun district
As part of their mandate to mobilize support under the leadership of President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma, members of the governing All People’s Congress (APC) in Pujehun District at the weekend embarked on a week-long massive membership registration in all the 12 chiefdoms that comprised the district. Specking to more than three thousand youths, women, party supporters, sympathies and well-wishers that were waiting for their membership cards to be issued to them, the APC District Chairman, Mohamed Dabeni, thanked the new converts for the solidarity they exhibited by showing their civic right as patriotic citizens. He heartily welcomed them on behalf of the APC party, noting that they are convinced to register with the party because of the practical development activities they are seeing in the district since President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma acceded to power in 2007.
Chairman Dabeni cited the road network, electricity, education, health, water facility amongst several development projects which the APC Government has implemented in Pujehun District.
He stressed that election is all about numbers and that power is all about embarking on promoting sustainable development for the good of the general populace.
Chairman Dabeni challenged that despite Pujehun District being the stronghold of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), President Koroma is not only developing the districts that voted for him, but he has also rolled out development across the country irrespective of ethnicity, region or colour.
In his statement, the former Chairman of SLPP in the Galliness Perri Chiefdom, Pujehun District, Mohamed Mansaray, registered his sincere thanks and appreciation to the President for the development strides he is making in the district.
He confessed that since the days of President Dr. Siaka Probyn Steven when they ceased using good roads, it was only when the APC came back into power in 2007 that they started using good roads again.
Mohamed Mansaray reiterated that though the South-East is considered as the heartland of the SLPP, yet the ruling APC has done so much for the people in that part of the country in terms of infrastructure development and alleviation of poverty. He assured that he would support the ruling APC until death.
One Madam Wuyata Sonjoh also expressed similar sentiments and assured the APC District Chairman of her willingness to fully undertake the activities of the party in Pujehun District by encouraging more people to pitch tents with the APC.
