Robinho demolishes SLPP in Kailahun
The recent bye-election results in Ward 002 in the Kailahun Court Barray clearly shows that the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) is fast losing grounds in its backyard.
Reliable sources in Kailahun District say Hon. Robin Faley is the brain behind the rapid fall of the SLPP in that district.
They described the fearless politician as someone who is unafraid to stand behind his opinions and that people admire him for his courage of conviction which they believe has yielded fruit for the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) in Kailahun District.
According to one of his admirers, Fayia Lamin, “Hon. Robin Faley’s brain is finely tuned and as sharp as a tack with no problems getting people to listen to him.”
He maintained that the eloquent politician sees challenges as drinks of life and won’t shy away from crucial public debates, adding that Hon. Robin Faley aka Robinho is considerate and affectionate to others and as a result, he is getting equal measures back in return from the electorate.
“Robinho is a special person to youths, women and children,” said Braima Nabieu, another admirer of the politician.
He said Robinho’s outreach activities in the areas of education, support to youths, women and children, and his promotion of cultural diversity, tribal and regional tolerance has made him one of the fastest growing politicians in the country.
Braima Nabieu also observed that Hon. Robin Faley’s recent partnership with the Minister of State, East, Hon. Maya Moiwo Kaikai, now seems to be paying huge political dividends for the Ernest Bai Koroma led new APC which has been evident in the just concluded bye-election in Ward 002 in Kailahun where the governing APC increased their votes from 5.3 percent to a whooping 40.1 percent.
A political analyst compared the results of the bye-election in Ward 002 to that of the Parliamentary bye-election results in Constituency 030 in the Bombali District, where the Chairman and Leader of Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray gave the ruling APC candidate Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo a good run for his money in their own backyard.
The analyst asserted that the sudden increase of votes for the APC in Kailahun District will leave many people wondering as to whether this is not the beginning of the demise of the main opposition SLPP in their own stronghold.
