May this state of peace prevail
Now and again something happens. It might be a hair breath escape or a glorious adventure but whatever it is, it brings a ray of hope.
The recent happenings on the political arena of Sierra Leone, advertently or inadvertently, bring home the long awaited relief that at least some amount of political decency is about to take place in this country.
To say the least, the visit of the SLPP 2012 flag bearer, Mr Julius Maada Bio to the diamondiferous district of Kono, followed the following week by the visit of the sons and daughters of the soil, all three being Ministers in the ruling APC, in the persons of Hon. Finda Diana Konomanyi, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Dr. Kelfala Marrah, Minister of Finance and Economic Development and Hon. Balogun Koroma aka Logus, Minister of Transport and Aviation passed off admirably peacefully .
What political observers see as a real demonstration of a new political dispensation is the tumultuous welcome accorded the opposing parties that visited the area.
This display of political maturity by the people of Kono would well be a divine intervention of the Almighty God who may now be fed up with the political violence that may have taken place during such visits, had it being in the past.
May this show of political tolerance prevail on to the days of the elections of 2018.
