‘APC will have only one candidate’ – President Koroma

The Chairman and Leader of the All People Congress [APC], President Ernest Bai Koroma , has told the APC National Youth League that the APC will only produce only one candidate for forth coming 2018 Presidential Elections.

He made this statement during the two day Annual National Youth Conference at the University of Makeni Auditorium [UNIMARK], on Friday, October 23 this year.

He stressed that the APC believes in inclusiveness and unity as the party is an ordinary man party.

In admonishing the youths, President Koroma said the day is important for the APC and the youths to see how they can take lessons from the past and look at current state of affairs of the youths for planning for the youths for the future.

He thanked the youths in fighting against Ebola especially those that sacrificed their lives to fight the virus.

He reiterated that he would lay his life for the young people of this country as they have demonstrated political tolerance in both the 2007 and 2012 elections.

He called on the young people to take centre stage as they will succeed the party and the future of the country. He encouraged them to continue to organize such meetings where they can meet to chart the way forward of their party and the country.

In his remarks, the party’s National Secretary General, Ambassador Alhaji Osman F. Yansaneh, the occasion is historic as the party is in a very critical position to progress. He pointed out that the meeting will show the past and present and prepare those who will have to carry on with the party.

He disclosed that President Koroma has created a lot employment for the young people for which the people of this country must be very grateful to him.

He appealed to them to exercise their voting rights for the party in coming bye elections in November this year.

In his statement, the National Youth League President, Mr. Bai Mamud Bangura stated that the Ebola virus disease has seriously affected the progress of the President Koroma’s Agenda for prosperity.

He expressed appreciation and thanked President Koroma for being so effective in the fight against Ebola.

He appealed to the youths to maintain the membership of the party to gain good leadership for 2018 Presidential elections.

He pointed out that as youths, the future of the party and the country rested on their shoulders.
