Speaking at the opening ceremony, a Legal luminary and President of MAWOPENET, Yasmine Jusu Sheriff recalled that the thirty percent (30%) quota for women’s representation in major positions in the country does not actualize and that they cannot give up in showing their efforts hoping that the assurance stated in the 1991 Constitution is taking seriously in the ongoing Constitutional Review process.

She called on the Committee to also consider women of Disability into the process adding their input would be valuable into good governance.

She called on the Constitutional Review Committee to make accessible the Constitution to every Sierra Leonean in a simple language that will be understandable and encouraging.
