Sierra Leone Ambassador Sends Congratulatory Message to Saudi on National Day
On the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s 85th National Day, it’s my pleasure, to express heartfelt congratulations and kindest wishes on behalf of my President, His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, the People and the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Embassy Staff and all Sierra Leoneans in the Kingdom to His Majesty, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Naif bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud.
We wish to extend our best wishes for His Majesty’s immaculate health and happiness and to the brotherly people and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, more progress and prosperity.
This year’s anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes at a time when the comprehensive development renaissance, based on the foundation laid by the Founder of the Kingdom, His Majesty King Abdulaziz Bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, continues apace. Building on the intellectual, institutional, and management foundations established by the Founder King, and guided by his ideas and practices in development planning and economic management, the sons and successors of the Founding King have continued the efforts that led to the remarkable achievements and successes in all fields, which has been reflected in the continued rise of living standards, improvements in quality of life, comprehensive construction and industrial renaissance, as well as the advanced economic and social services throughout the country.
These achievements are the clear testimony on the effectiveness of the developmental approach that has been adopted by the Kingdom; an approach that combines scientific planning, targeted rationalization, and continued support for private sector within the framework of economic freedom and individual initiative.
Despite his short tenure as Monarch , the King of Humanity supported by both the Crown Prince and Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud has made development a central focus of his reign. He has initiated and continued the legacy of his successors in a range of major economic, social, education, health, and infrastructure projects that have brought about remarkable changes throughout the Kingdom.
Some of these infrastructural developments which include the ongoing multi – billion dollar expansion project of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Riyadh metro project, among many others, are new land marks in the Kingdom. They are also gigantic achievements which show the King’s deep-rooted love for the religion, homeland, nation and humanity. These projects can also be attributed to the vision and wisdom of King Salman and his predecessors.
On a global level, King Salman’s participation in international diplomacy reflects the Kingdom’s leadership role in defense of Arab and Islamic issues and for the achievement of world peace, stability and security. The King has played a leading role in the service of Arab and Islamic issues, and has laid the foundations for political action in Gulf, Arab, Islamic and international arenas, as well as for the establishment of global dialogue among the followers of religions, cultures and civilizations.
Saudi Arabia has made major strides in illiteracy eradication over the past 50 years and Sierra Leone has benefitted immensely from that package, amongst many other areas, including, but not limited to health, infrastructural developments, cultural exchange, to name but a few. Saudi Arabia has also made a very impressive and remarkable record in the UN e-Government Survey released a few years ago. The Kingdom is now among the top performers in e-government as an emerging e-government leader, and its commitment to increasing access to government services electronically is now accelerating at a faster pace.
The Kingdom is celebrating its National Day at a time when it is enjoying dignity and prosperity under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz.
Sierra Leone values the long-standing and brotherly relations between the two countries and always looking forward to many opportunities to strengthen this relationship and cooperation in the years ahead.
May peace, mercy and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon the King, all members of the Royal family, the Government and the generous and hospitable people of Saudi Arabia with good health, happiness and prosperity – Ameen
By Alhaji Mohamed Sillah Kargbo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the OIC
