FOCUS 1000 Rescues Flood Victims

The items, received on behalf of Government by the Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Alhaji Moijeh Kaikai, included 500 bundles of safe drinking water, 100 bags of rice, 100 buckets, 300 drinking cups and 10 cartoons of soap.

According to Dr. Pratt, the donation was to sympathize and help alleviate the sufferings of the affected victims revealing that although offering aid to disaster victims is not part of the mandate of the organization, FOCUS 1000 is complementing the efforts of Government, NGOs and development partners.

In a related development, Pikin to Pikin Movement, in collaboration with Children Advocacy Forum and the Sierra Leone Market Women’s Association, on17th September 2015registered children affected by the disaster at the Siaka Stevens Stadium to get a database for their intervention.
