John Sartie Kargbo: The Early Bird – A Politician with a Difference
Genuine and patriotic politics is about catering for the welfare of the masses and that is exactly what a legal luminary, John Sartie Kargbo is doing for the people of constituency 92 in the Western Rural District where he has publicly manifested his intention to become the next Member of Parliament in 2018.
Kargbo is the kind of politician that does not believe in deceiving his people with vain promises; he believes in doing tangible development projects for his people to convince them to vote him to vote him to parliament come 2018. His numerous development projects are visible right round the constituency and have so positively impacted the minds of the people that he is most likely to win the parliamentary seat of that constituency if the ruling APC is politically wise enough to award him the symbol.
From Deep-Eye Water, Rokel, Jui, Yams Farm to Devil Hole and other communities in the constituency, Kargbo is hailed as a hero of development. Together with his development committee, he has constructed a modern police post on the Freetown-Waterloo Highway and provided three mini-dams. Nine taps and a Youth Center for the Deep-Eye water community apart from launching sixty-six million Leones micro-credit scheme for women in the various communities in the constituency.
He has been rendering valuable support to the various mosques in the constituency, examples being his provision of cement for the mosque at Jui, provision of rubber kettles for twenty mosques around the constituency and boards for the Goba Drive mosque in Deep-Eye Water.
Kargbo and his development committee have, for the first time, piloted an electricity survey with the aim of providing electricity for many areas of the constituency and have constructed a fourteen-by-six feet bridge for the Sima Town community in Devil-Hole. They have also rehabilitated a mini-dam at Coke Sign Board in the Rokel community and provided trips of stones for the rehabilitation of the entrance road to Deep-Eye water and donated cement for the construction of public toilet for the Yams Farm community.
Kargbo and his development team have also constructed two hand pump water wells for residents of the Quarry area, purchased a megaphone for the Town Crier of Deep-Eye water apart from launching a public toilet project for residents of the Bessberry Wharf though the project was sabotaged by the very residents.
Kargbo and team have also been responding to emergencies by giving relief support to victims of fire disaster in Bessberry. They have been playing a commendable role in the ongoing fight against Ebola by donating thermometers to the Burnce Town community and providing flashlights and allowances for Ebola Task Force members deployed at checkpoints.
These and many other development works of John Sartie Kargbo have endeared him to many residents of constituency 92 who have registered their avowed determination to vote for him in 2018. There is the saying that the early bird catches the worm, meaning people who make early ventures are likely to succeed and since Kargbo has started his political venture so early, he is likely to succeed considering his visible good works in constituency 92.
