Emmerson Excels in Sweden

According to our source gathered from Sweden, Emmerson was invited by members of the Sierra Leone Union in Sweden headed by one Emmanuel Foday.

The Sierra Leonean afro-beat musician has been popular in the country for his captivating style of music that advocates on behalf of the less fortunate and lambasts corruption in the political sector through music and concert.

He released the ‘Bobor Belleh’ musical album through a serious struggle and the intervention of an entertainment promoter known as Spencer-Coker in the days of Tejan Kabba’s SLPP regime and at that time gained the attention of the public and contributed in one way or the other to the downfall of that regime.

Several reports state that Emmerson Bockarie was invited and performed in other places in the American, European, Australian and African Continents where he demonstrated his abilities in music and drama, featuring popular Sierra Leone musicians like, Ragga Spice, Mr. One, among others and Nigerian musicians like 2face Idibia and Timaya.

Emmerson is believed to have succeeded in life through music and has been ranked among the nation’s most popular and best musicians, reports stated.

Further sources revealed that Rashida Baratay and Sulaiman Bah were among the prime organizers of the show that has made another history for Emmerson Bockarie.

It was also disclosed that the afro-beat musician staged a two-hour non-stop impressive performance at Subtopia, a center where most other popular musicians were invited, giving the opportunity to Africans living in Sweden to witness the performances of the musical stars.

“Emmerson performed very well with great endurance though he could not dance well”, our source stated, adding that they would be happy to see a Sierra Leonean musician in Sweden with a better dance and singing ability.

Head of the Sierra Leone Company in Sweden, Emmanuel Foday, told this press that his group has plans to promote more of Sierra Leonean musicians in Sweden, furthering that Emmerson Bockarie makes way for those opportunities.

“We hope to boost the Sierra Leonean music trend in that part of the world as an effort to help our musicians gain more recognition and acceptance by the Swedish people among other musicians from other continents,” Foday said.
