Sierra Leone Midfielder to join Greek Club
Sierra Leone international John Kamara is set to sign a two-year deal with Greek second tier side Aris FC from PAS Lamia, the fee is said to be undisclosed.
The former Tadamon Sour and Apollon midfielder ended a week trial with the Greek side currently in Serbia as part of the club pre-season tour ahead of the new league campaign.
The club is a part of the Greek multi-sports club A.S. Aris Thessaloniki and has been champions of Greece three times; they have won the Greek cup once and have remained undefeated at home in European competitions since 1968.
According to the 27-year-old the deal to join second tier side, Aris FC appears to be moving ever closer after his agent traveled to Thessaloniki to finalize the deal within the next 48 hours.
Speaking to footballsierraleone.net, ahead of his proposed move, he said “I am really happy to join Aris FC as I have been training hard and I can’t wait to make my debut for my new club.”
“My agent is presently in Thessaloniki city waiting, adding that he’s confident of securing a permanent deal”, he confirmed.
When asked whether he intend playing for the national team; John replied, “I’m always ready to play for my country if given the chance,”
Kamara added. “Every player wants to put on his national colour. Next month`s match is a crucial one for us and I’m looking forward to being part of it, and we now have a new coach”, he said.
