Who are these BOMBAs?

Sierra Leoneans have over the years developed a new vocabulary, BOMBA, used to describe pot-bellied affluent people usually luxuriating in hyper-expensive flashy cars and living in Heaven while on Earth. They are often seen in their cars with angels of beauty driving to beach bars from where they go the guest houses for aggravated pimping.

Most of these BOMBAs have the law in their pocket, so, one should avoid their speeding vehicles for if they hit you to death, you will only be sure of a bag of rice and few hundreds of thousands of Leones after which your case will die a natural death.

These big belly BOMBAs may be largely responsible for our food insecurity as their spacious stomachs swallow can conveniently accommodate a huge quantity of our meager food in the country. Just meet one of them in the restaurants and you will ever prove Parrot right. They may be the ones starving our coffers as their pockets are too deep to accommodate their meager salaries, only big money stolen from state coffers can fill the deep pockets.

Many of these BOMBAs are morally bankrupt and may be responsible for the rampant teenage pregnancy plaguing this republic; many of them may have shattered many marriages and homes via their libidinous life styles. They are the best customers of the brothels, the sex houses, guest houses and hotels.

These mushrooming BOMBAs are never questioned on the source of their lavishly spent unexplained wealth. All we care to know is that they are BOMBAs who should be deified. We clap for them even when they talk rubbish in public; they are always the serious and blessed people who are as always right as Bennito Mussolini in Fascist Europe.

Most of these BOMBAs have very little to lose to this nation but very much to gain; they are like leeches sucking the national blood. They have sucked Sierra Leone’s blood to the point that the country has become economically pale. Never dare to contest any election against any of these BOMBAs; you will end up running to court to seek a redress you may never find.
