On the Hundred New Buses
The arrival of hundred brand-new government buses to Sierra Leone is very timely; the buses have come at a time when the people are undergoing serious transport constraints, especially in the capital city, Freetown where the poor masses are seen daily in long queues scrambling for the woefully inadequate number of commercial vehicles that ply the city.
Stone-hearted commercial motor drivers have been capitalizing on the acute shortage of commercial transport vehicles to be financially exploiting the already impoverished masses with impunity. Passengers rushing to their workplaces are compelled to take a two-way, sometimes three-way transport to reach their workplaces on time.
The arrival of the new buses has raised the hope of Sierra Leoneans sky high and government must not dash to pieces their hope that the hundred new buses will solve the transport problem.
