20 Schools Benefit From Masada Corporate Social Responsibility

Just few weeks back when they launched their Janitorial and Fumigation services, the only international certified cleaning company in Sierra Leone, Masada Waste Management Company has embarked on schools cleaning as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

The exercise which started at the Annie Walsh Memorial School past Friday during the Country’s three days sit at home came as a surprise to many.

According to the Press Consulting Managing Director, Alusine Macfoy,  the purpose of the exercise is to showcase Masada’s professionalism and readiness to clean the municipality through their state of the art equipment.

He said to demonstrate Masada’s readiness to reach homes and offices, they are cleaning 20 Schools, Mosques and Churches in Freetown for as part of their corporate social responsibility.

“We also want to showcase to the people of Freetown that we have what it takes to do the job,” he maintained

He described Masada as a forward thinking company and that they are capable to do what they are doing.

Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation II Madam Madina Rahman commended Masada for coming to their aid at the right time. She said they decided to embank on the cleaning of schools because most schools have been closed for while.

She went on to say that schools were used as quarantine, isolation, and treatment and holding centers.

“We decided to disinfect and decontaminate those schools because they have been closed for over seven months.”

According to the Deputy Minister 8,100 schools are going to be taken care of but their first target are the schools that will be hosting the BECE exams. She emphasized that on the 10th of April all schools would have been cleaned.

Acting Principal of Annie Walsh Junior Secondary School, Helen Hamilton thanked Masada and all those who in diverse ways contributed to the cleaning of the school and making it a conducive learning environment once again. She prayed for them to continue to work for the nation as they will continue to up hold the girl child education.

Masada’s Admin Director Sahr Dauda Karku said Masada  Waste Management Company is an indigenous organization established by two business oriented Sierra Leoneans, Gibril Wilson as Chief Executive Officer and Ami Dumbuya as National Project manager.

He said since its establishment, the company has been providing services in the form of evaluating, collecting, depositing and managing wastes for over forty transit points with or without bins, corporate entities and households in the Freetown Municipality.

He pointed out that the Company is also charged with the responsibility of overseeing and providing maintenance for central sewage network pipeline in the Freetown Municipality, and also provides septic emptying service to the people of Freetown and in environs.

In addition to these services, he went on to say that Masada launched Janitorial and fumigation services at the conference hall of Radisson Blue Hotel on Thursday 19th March 2015 that will target a number of Government departments, corporate entities and private individuals. The two services, he added comprise general cleaning of residential and commercial premises focusing on carpets, upholstery and hard floors, garbage collection and compound maintenance and Pest Extermination and Fumigations.

The company has a dedicated team of technicians with vast experience, top offer, excellent services and high levels of customer satisfaction with the use of highly refined pesticides and cleaning agents.

The Admin Director  further stated that as Sierra Leone is moving towards post Ebola it is imperative for  them to create an environment that is not only safe for themselves, their families, kids and co-workers especially when the government is planning to re-open schools this April 2015.

He said his vision for Freetown and Sierra Leone is for all to be more conscious about the way they manage rubbish and the environment. “It is important we start to recycle and re use our products. I see plastic in our gutters, beaches and everywhere else. And now with all the technology that are out there we can add value to a problem by converting that plastic into a bye product in which hundreds of jobs for our youths will be created,” he said.

“All chemicals and equipment that we are using are latest in the market that is certified by CDC and the Environmental Protection Agency. Our aim is to please the customers to their satisfaction that’s why Masada choice is the only choice,” he added.

He concluded by calling on all to join hands together to get Freetown healthy and clean by choosing Masada at all time.
