Sojatong Community hails MASADA

Sojatong Community hails MASADA

Residents of Sojatong Community in the Central part of Freetown comprising of Hill Street, Fort Street Wesley Street and Soldier Street have expressed their satisfaction and commended MASADA for the way they are handling the garbage issue since they took over from the Freetown Waste Management Company. They applauded MASADA for a smile on their faces and have fresh air in their homes, as the garbage has been causing inconvenience and embarrassment for them and their visitors.

The National Chairman and youth leader of the group Ibrahim Nasiru told this medium on Monday 7th April, 2014 that MASADA Waste Management Company has proved to the public that MASADA can do more than expectation.

According to the youth leader Sojatong which had become another ‘BOMEH’ is now cleared by MASADA. He went on to say that Sojatong is surrounded by important Government Institutions, like the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Public Sector Reform, State House and Office of the Diaspora.

 Mr. Nasiru urged MASADA under the dynamic leadership of Madam Aminata Dumbuya to do more so as to complement Government effort in the ‘Agenda for Prosperity’.

“Government must ensure that every community has proper sanitation as it is important for every nation to be healthy for its citizenry to enhance development,” said Dumbuya.

Mr. Cecil Browne a retired Sanitation Officer of the Health and Sanitation Ministry confessed that MASADA has turned things around in a short period, and their successes are visible when compared with FWMC. He called on the management of MASADA to increase their Garbage collection vehicles and man power to enhance effective cleaning.
