Deputy Chief Whip on Ebola sensitization

Tonkolili, Sept. 29 (SLENA) – As Members of Parliament continue to play their leadership role in the fight against the deadly Ebola virus in their respective constituencies, over the weekend the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. The Ebola education attracted all seven sections in the constituency involving councilors, paramount chiefs, section chiefs, youth groups and women’s organization.

Speaking to her constituent, Hon. Hannah Bundu said she is complimenting President Koroma’s effort in the fight against the disease, pointing out the roles government and parliament in particular has played in the fight against the Ebola virus

Hon Bundu reiterated that the virus is real and advised her people to observe regular washing of hands and maintain personal cleanness.

The Deputy Chief Whip used the occasion to educate her constituents on the sign, symptoms and prevention of the Ebola virus

Meanwhile, the Local Unit Commander of Mile 91, Inspector P. Rogers advised constituents to obey the laws of the land and that of the state of emergency.

The deputy chairman of the Tonkolili District Council, Mr. F.Y Kanu commended the MP for upholding leadership role in the fight against the Ebola virus and pleaded with constituents to adhere to all advices on the virus

Speaking on behalf of the councilors, John BS Fullah of Ward 211 commended Hon. Bundu for the donation of Ebola materials to all the sections in the constituency which items included megaphones, motor bikes and hand washing buckets.

Paramount chiefs present promised to work with the MP and abide by all the byelaws set up by government to fight the Ebola virus.
