With Ebola, Sierra Leone is still safe says Deputy GM

The Deputy General Manager, Country Lodge Hotel, John Shallop, has publicly declared that despite the Ebola outbreak, Sierra Leone is still a safe place where tourists can enjoy vacation.

Mr. Shallop made the declaration during a recent exclusive interview with Sierra Express Media in his hotel in Freetown.

He urged journalists to positively join the ongoing fight to eradicate Ebola. Shallop observed that both the local and international media have been misinforming the world on the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, giving the world an exaggerated impression about the spread of the disease, a situation which, he said, bears the highest propensity to scare away investors, thereby impeding national development.

According to Mr. John Shallop, he has been receiving calls from various hotel members for cancellation and he admonished Journalists in both print and electronic media houses to accurately report credible data on the ailment and to stop portray the name of the country in bad image.

  • Mr Shallop must be crazy or he is simply trying to invite people to die so he can make money at his hotel. The Ebola pandemic is real. It should be published, publicised and exposed. It should be taken very serious. No business schemes until we can put a stop to the Ebola attacks.
