New Addax General Manager assures staff
The new General Manager of Addax Bioenergy Sierra Leone, Trevor Endres has assured his management team and staff members that he is here to effect change and makes a difference under the company’s production phase. Addressing a jam-packed hall on Friday 11th July 2014 at the company’s operation site, Endres said he can only achieve this with the cooperation of his present team. “We must be ready to break barriers and respect the culture of our operations,” he said, adding that all must be honest, fair and be self disciplined. “We must not compromise our values and principles. The General Manager who reminded his audience about the company’s vision and values, described every aspect of the project as very important because everybody must know their roles and responsibilities and at the end of the day meet at a common ground that ensure a positive employer-employee relationship.
He described the production phase as very exciting, because will bring development to the country as it revenue ability will enhance more development activities like training of staff to become experts.
“This is a long-term project with long-term benefit,” he said, noting further that mechanisms will be put in place for skills transfer so that committed staff will be trained to take over from foreign expatriates under a succession plan.
This, he said will be in line with the Local Content Policy of the Country. Endres received thunderous applauds when he revealed to his staff members that plans are afoot to take some staff to South Africa to gain more skills. “We are developing procedures and organizational structures the will put the ethanol processing project into full gear,” says the General Manager.
Festus Davies is the Human resource Development Coordinator at Addax Bioenergy Limited. He told this press that they have signed a Agricultural Service Gazette in October last year in order to get the terms and conditions under which staffs are operating. The company, he said has over two thousand staffs. The New General manger, he said is coming at the right time when the company needs him to effect a positive change. “We need a leadership that is people centered and focus. I am extremely grateful about his willingness on Local Content. When Addax succeeds, more employment will be done,” he said.
Trevor Endres joined Addax Bioenergy as General Manager, Addax Bionergy Sierra Leone, in May 2014.
He has spent almost 30 years in the international sugar industry. Prior to joining Addax Bioenergy, he spent 5 years with Tsb in South Africa, as the General Manager of Pongola mill. Previously, Mr Endres worked for Booker Tate Ltd for 13 years; 5 years in Saudi Arabia as Project Director at United Sugar in Jeddah and 7 years at Zambia Sugar ending as Factory Manager; 4 years with MA Patout Group in Louisiana as Plant Manager of the Raceland Factory and then the Enterprise Factory. He started his career as an engineering graduate trainee at CG Smith Sugar in 1986.
Trevor Endres is a graduate in mechanical engineering from The Vaal University in Technology, South Africa, and registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Certificated Engineer and Professional Engineering Technologist. Trevor Endres also holds post graduate qualifications in management from The University of South Africa and The Stellenbosch University Business School.
