Two Week Training For Photographers

Sierra Leone Labor Congress, in partnership with the Danish Labor Organization in Demark, has conducted a two–week pilot skills training for the Sierra Leone Photographers’ Union to enhance their capacity.

Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Dr. Lansana Nyallay, in his statement at the ceremony, disclosed that his Ministry is very much concerned about the Photographers’ Union since it encompasses science and technology which are part and parcel of the educational curriculum.

Dr. Nyallay also disclosed that photography is a professional job if properly studied asserting that the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is ready to support the Union to train middle level manpower professionals for socio-economic development.

He appealed to the Union to ensure that its members are licensed and expressed optimism that the training would create more opportunities for photographers to meet the global competitive market.

Minister of Employment, Labor and Social Security, Minkailu Mansaray commended the Union for their tremendous contributions to move the profession forward and admonished them to be firmly united and work for the good of the Union and the country as a whole.

He concluded that photographers should work to achieve a solid market strategy and thanked the Danish Labor Organization for their support to the Union.
