Parliament commends Koinadugu district council

In his overview of council’s operations, the Chief Administrator, Sahr Yambusu explained the committee the roles and responsibilities of the council and the various sectors in the council, adding that council has various developmental partners that are helping the district in terms of development.
He said sector heads, councilors and word committee member are very effective in the discharge of their functions.
Yambasu further briefed the committee on the support council is getting from development partners and how all sector heads are complementing each other to ensure that standards are maintained.
Responding, the Chairman of the committee, Hon Kamanda noted that as a committee they are looking into compliance, implementation and disbursement of government funds.
The chairman of the committee commended the CA for a work well done in relation to the development of the district more particularly for the involvement of all stakeholders in the activities of the district.
The District Agricultural Officer said in Koinadugu is the largest settlement that depends on agriculture purely for their survival and therefore agriculture is very important to them.
He maintained that they have been doing a lot of developmental activity in the district involving monies government has been sending for agricultural purposes.
