Commencing this week, the visit by the head of Sierra Leone’s Legislature, is intended “to enhance the understanding of the Sierra Leone Speaker on the constitutional governance and administrative role of the Speaker and the Clerk of the House of Commons” with a view to enhancing those roles in the Sierra Leone Parliament.
Sierra Leone’s parliamentary system, like all Commonwealth legislatures, was patterned after the Westminster tradition, but the 1991 Constitution provides for a separation of powers.
