EAFA Complement Government Efforts On Free Health Care

One of the outstanding and networking local non-governmental organization under which provides services to poor and deprived communities country wide is the Elizabeth Agricultural Farmers Association, EAFA-Sierra Leone.

Speaking to the project co-ordinator, Mr. Sullay Koroma disclosed that EAFA has acquired several acres of farm lands countrywide for Agricultural purposes and farming equipment for poor farmers to support the food security programme. He continued that his organization has also supplied medical equipments in various hospitals, teaching and learning materials to schools, constructed schools, and very recently it has also constructed a modern clinic in Ro-Rinka Village in the Makerie Gbanti Chiefdom in the Bombali District in the Northern province.

Mr. Koroma also maintained that twelve state enrolled community health nurses were also trained in Makeni on acute treatment with classical Homeopathic since 2010. He also stressed that the training programme was done by a general non-governmental organization, (Homeopathic OHNE GREENEEN) – Homeopathic without borders, which is also non-governmental organization in Germany which trained medical staff in various countries in Homeopathic aiming to support themselves. The project was conducted with great support from EAFA – Sierra Leone.

The medical team also treated Sierra Leoneans all over the country on traditional medicines on free of cost basis, in support of the good initiative of president Koroma.

After the training programme, the Northern Polytechnic – Nursing department students received certificates and ‘remedies (medicines) to help cure people. During the graduation ceremony the training manager, (Homeopathic without borders – in Germany – Ruth Rohde also expressed her gratitude to EAFA-S/L. The student for their relentless efforts in ending the programme.

Mr. Debalie Conteh executive Director EAFA-S/L Reiterated that his organizations stands to help the poor on agriculture education and health. He also stressed that his organization will continue to provide free treatment on free of cost basis.

Mr. Conteh re-affirmed that EAFA – Sierra Leone has seen operating in the country for over ten years with support from their partners.

In Germany Mrs. Barbara a member of the medical team also praised (EAFA-S/L) for their unflinching supports and stressed that the progamme will continue. The medical facilitator Mr. Will maintained that the programme will continue. Mr. Foday Fofanah also stressed that the clinic at Ro-Rinka will serve the Makarie – Gbanti Chiefdom and it environs with support from the district council and the D.H.M Team in Makeni.
