Government to revisit road disconnection at Model via FBC

The shortest road leading directly to the University of Sierra Leone Fourah Bay College (FBC) has been disconnected by the Senegalese Construction Company (CSE) and created so many inconveniencies to not only Lecturers, Students and Residents of the College, but several communities in that part of Freetown including Albert Academy, Muslim Brotherhood Secondary School, Calenda, Tree Planting and many others have been deprived and Government needs to revisit this road block.

Now to access Fourah Bay College, Leicester, Gloucester and beyond, you have to drive to Dwarzack junction first before accessing the main berry street. In an interview with students and lecturers that have access to vehicles that are coming from the East end and Central Part of the City they confessed to this medium that driving to FBC now is hell. To avoid lateness and consumption of more fuel the lecturers said they now pack their cars at the Model junction and join public transport which is embarrassing to most of them.

Speaking to the Director of Feeder Roads at the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), Mr. Jusu told this press that the road from Model junction to Berry Street is not going to be disconnected, but has now been put on hold by the Senegalese Construction Company. Residents of Leicester road, Gloucester and beyond commend President Koroma for his developmental strides for making the entire country a works yard, but also said that any development that will cause suffering for the citizens, must be revisited and amendment.

On that note, the connection between Model junction and Berry Street which has been disconnected by CSE with either instructions from SLRA or not, what matters is many communities including FBC Lecturers, students and residents are suffering and some thing needs to done urgently to stop the suffering.
