Kono Diamond Dealers call for election
Diamond Dealers Association in Kono district have called for a fresh election for the position of Kono Diamond Dealers Chairmanship.
This was made known at a jam packed meetings held at Fachima hall over the weekend in Kono.
APC Veteran politician in Kono Chief Alhaji Faba Morsay aka small Peper of Sandoh chiefdom noted that the current chairman of the association Prince Kai Saquee has ended his term since last year 2013.
He accused the former chairman Prince Kai Saquee that ever since he occupied such high profile office, he has not been able to do anything for the association members.
Chief Alhaji Faba Morsay, called on the dynamic Minister of Mines and minerals resources, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray who also doubles as deputy chairman of the APC to act fast and conduct fresh election for the Diamond Dealers in Kono.
The people are now yearning for their next chairperson to be Madam Sia Jarieu B. Morsay who is now the people’s choice.
Over the last one year she has done a lot of donations to the people of Kono district and beyond. She has even promised to donate a brand new X-ray machine to the Koidu Government hospital after she may have won the election this year.
She is a philanthropist, kind, firmed, focused, result oriented, loyal and dedicated to the cause of the Association and a perfect administrator.
She is a certified diamond expert from the United States of America where the Vice President of Sierra Leone Chief Alhaji Samuel Sam Sumana Studied.
Alhaji Faba Morsay categorically stated that some of them are alive today to see the APC party achieved its political dreams and to see democracy operates in Sierra Leone.
He emphasized that the conduct of the election will prevent disunity among it membership and it will promote good governance in the association as the association is deeply divided.
He pleaded to the Hon Minister of Mines to act fast so as to avoid chaos in the district and amongst its membership.
Chief Morsay highlighted that anything that will bring the good image and credibility of our beloved APC down in Kono would not be accepted adding that he will not sit by to see other people from the opposition party are using obscene languages against our leadership and the APC party.
Various speakers at the meeting expressed similar views calling for fresh election to be held in Kono this month before confusion erupts.
