For better conditions of service 50 metropolitan police to switch over to SLP
Source has intimated to this medium that 50 metropolitan police officers of the Freetown City Council are already set to join the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) force.
In an exclusive interview with a senior metropolitan police officer who proffered anonymity, he disclosed that the officers have even filled forms and said there are various reasons prompting their decision.
Among other things the confidant said most of the guys are leaving due to poor condition of service, delay in salaries, poor management, and political interference in the discharge of their duties. They opined only management can privatize the metropolitan force sanity will prevail and this will also boost the income of the Council.
He disclosed further that it is not enough to implement bye laws alone for Freetown City Council but to enact laws that will cover the entire country.
