Business woman exposes Edward Sabondo

International business woman Fatmata Mary Vandy has accused her husband Edward Patrick Sabondo of being a 419er. Madam Vandy who was responding to several allegations levied against her by her husband in the New Vision Newspaper edition of January 10th 2014 claimed that when Mr. Sabondo who stays at Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom proposed to marry her, he did not tell her that he had another wife in England. She said Sabondo who holds a British passport told her to foot the bill for the wedding and that when he comes to Freetown he will refund the money.

“He told me to take care of the food while he takes care of the drinks. I thought he was an honest man. I spent over thirty million leones on the entire wedding including the food and drinks but to my greatest surprise Sabondo refused to refund my money despite several requests.”

Madam Vandy disclosed that Sabondo wedded her on April 13th 2013 in Freetown and three months later divorced the first wife in the United Kingdom on July 10th 2013 contrary to what he told her earlier.

She said immediately after divorcing his wife in England Sabondo called her to meet one Rev. Father Bassie to back date their wedding certificate in Freetown without given reasons but refused to do so since she had already knew the dubious activities of the man.

“I initially thought that he was an honest man but to my surprise it was the contrary. He only wanted to use me for his selfish motives but thanked God I noticed that earlier,” Mdm. Vandy said. She said when Sabondo came to Freetown on December 27th last year she deliberately refused to see him since she has realized that he was not sincere and honest with her.

Fatmata also accused her husband of leading a group of thugs in an unregistered V6 vehicle to her residence with knives and cutlasses to attack her on the night of January 7th 2014. She said the attackers put a knife on the throat of her security demanding him to call her. She said she reported the matter to the Adonkia Police Division upon her return from overseas on January 29th 2014 and later transferred the matter to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters.  She however denied all the allegations levied against her by Mr. Sabondo stressing that he is a disappointment.
