Munazamat embarks on Dawah tour in Bumbuna

Munazamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamia an international organization on Friday 14th March, 2014 made an assessment visit to the township of Bumbuna to see how they can contribute in strengthening the faith of Muslims in that part of the country. The program which was organized at the Bumbuna Court Barry attracted hundreds of Muslims in the township.

In his remark, the Regional Public Relations and Personnel Officer Mr. Abdul Ahmad Daramy said that the main purpose of their visit was to see how his organization will collaborate with the people of Bumbuna in propagating the religion of Islam. He cataloged his organization’s humanitarian service which includes scholarships, providing funds for orphans, needy home, water wells and an Islamic complex.

Mr. Abdul Ahmad Daramy revealed that his organization will be providing scholarship for students to study in Sudan in various disciplines in order to improve their academic excellence. He encouraged the congregation to continue in their propagation and whatever proposal he has, he will channel it so that the community can benefit from their humanitarian services to the nation.

Addressing the topic “Importance of Hijab” Kadija Ahmed Barrie described a woman who wears hijab as a person who liberates herself from the vain and selfish desire to show off her beauty and to compete with other women around her. She reiterated that Hijab is a command from Allah. Also, Allah as in the Holy Qur’an 33:59 says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”

Sister Kadija Barrie encouraged Muslim women to put on their Hijab in order to protect themselves from abuse and harm which are prevalent in societies in which few women cover. She cited Sura 24 verse 31 which reads “And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers that you might succeed”.

In her address on the topic “Role of Islamic women in the homes” Haja Mariama Fadika said the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAW) has elevated women from their status as chattel to the dignity of being equal servants of Allah with men.  Their most important task is to take care of their homes and children. The Prophet (SAW) says in addressing women: “Take care of your home for that is your Jihad.” (Musnad Ahmad). She opined that mothers are indispensable for building character of the next generation. A believing mother who understands the crucial nature of her responsibility will imbue her children with faith and moral values, as much as she can. She will raise children with courage, honesty, truthfulness, patience and perseverance, love and kindness, faith and self-confidence. On the other hand, a society without mothers and home-makers will produce at-risk youth.

Haja Mariama Fadika reiterated that no one can remove a bottle of motherly compassion. Her patience, kindness, willingness to sacrifice her own comforts, and her natural affinity for children and the children’s natural affinity for the mother are the key to successful upbringing of children. A mother understands the children’s problem even when they cannot express it. She can uniquely sense their needs, both physical and emotional. She can satisfy some of these herself. For others, children need the father. But even he needs her insights in discharging his responsibilities in this area. No day care center or nursery can make up for the absence of the mother and father.

In her remarks the social welfare and administrative officer Whyda Yusuf gave a brief overview of the Organization and the program was chaired by Mr. Thomas Conteh.
