A commuter has explained how she was robbed of her mobile phone and money on board a taxi en-route to Wilberforce, Freetown on Saturday 13th March 2010. The commuter Isatu Barrie explained that she was returning home at Wilberforce when she boarded at taxi at Pademba Road opposite Christ Church. According to her there were three of them in the back seat and one passenger in the front seat adding that she was sandwiched by the two men who feigned inconvenience as through the seat was too tight for three of them.

Isatu said the started pushing for more space on the seat until they eventually created an uneasy situation in the car. But little did I know that the two passengers had targeted me for robbery, she said, Isatu said she was surprised when the driver winched down the car glass at Safecon Filling Station and told her he would no longer proceed to Bottom Mango, the last stop for taxis plying the Freetown Wilberforce Road. The driver advised that he had decided to take another route and he was very vulgar when he asked me to come down his car, Isatu said she checked for her mobile and money, she discovered that all had disappeared adding that she was not able to trace the taxi, Isatu said she reported the matter to New England Police Station but the police have shown no interest in the matter.
