Principal frowns on poor BECE exams performance
Mile 91, Feb. 5 (SLENA) – A new junior secondary school, the Rainbow Junior Secondary School has been established in Masorie, a section of Mile 91 in the Tonkolili District by the Rainbow Foundation, a non-religious group.
The school, partially supported by the Tonkolili District Council, is located in an inspiring and conducive learning environment, catering for both male and female students.
In an exclusive interview with SLENA, the Principal, Madam Isatu Kanu said the school puts premium on discipline and good behavior among pupils and teachers, noting that these are key values that foster academic progress.
On the vexed issue of admitting non successful NPSE candidates into junior secondary schools, Principal Kanu frowned on the practice, saying it will be an exception to her administration, stressing that any pupil who fails to score the approved grade will not be admitted in her school.
“This policy will also be extended to BECE candidates who fail to secure pass grades for the senior secondary school,” she assured, adding that the Rainbow Secondary School is structured along principles and procedures with a rigorous curriculum which is open to all and sundry.
“We are not prepared to tolerate mediocrity,” she said, saying her school will only maintain values that promote better standards of education.
