DTO Western Police Station gets tough

The District Traffic Officer (DTO) of the Western Police Station along the Adelaide Street in Freetown, Inspector Mbalu A. Kabba, has launched an operation code named, “No compromise,” with drivers plying her area of responsibilities.

This was made known to the Sierra Express Media in an exclusive interview at her Adelaide Street office yesterday.

DTO Kabba disclosed that she took over as DTO of the Western Police Station just over a month ago transferred there for being Officer Commanding the towing operation of Operation WID at the Central Police Station.

She also explained that before heading Operation WID, she was the DTO at the Central Police Station where she said she excelled herself to the admiration of the Executive Management Board of the Sierra Leone Police.

She disclosed that since she took up office at the Western Police Station they have been arresting and charging to Court at least five drivers per day for various traffic offences ranging from disobeying road signs, failing to draw vehicle to the near side of the road, causing obstruction, dangerous driving, and driving uninsured, unlicensed and unregistered vehicle.

Inspector Kabba also explained that she has warned the personnel under her command to resist corrupt practices as anyone found wanting will face the full penalty of the law.

She said she was encouraging Journalists to feel free to cross check allegations with her office as she has a friendly relationship with a lot of media personnel.

“I don’t have anything to hide or any skeleton in my cupboard,” she stressed.

She showered praises on some of her dedicated team members including Police Constable 9230 Adama Khazali, Sergeant 3909 C.T. Kanu and others.

In another related development, the Track West, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Salifu Conteh, has stated that his area of responsibilities is the most tedious area to work as it is part of his duties to ensure that they escort the President to work and back home.

He described DTO Mbalu Kabba as result oriented, firm, focused, Kind, loyal, dedicated to duty and a perfect administrator and has excelled herself nationally and internationally.

He called on the press to support the Police for the good of the country and for us to see ourselves not as enemies but as partners working to push this nation forward.
