Love Without Boundaries holds fete for needy children
Love Without Boundaries is a charitable organization dedicated to serving underprivileged children with the hope of helping each child maximize his or her potential.
The fete for needy children took place at St Joseph’s Convent School grounds in Freetown on 21st December, 2013.
Speaking at the ceremony, Madam Jestina Betts, Chief Executive Officer, said that the event sought to give the children a day of fun, and time to be kids and enjoy some of the privileges other children take for granted.
She disclosed the theme, “Make a child smile,” was chosen after consideration that poor Sierra Leonean children hardly smile, and she said smiling was good for health.
She stated that donations from the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and some Airtel staff were received.
She explained that they work within the context of the family, the community and orphanages whenever possible and always with love and respect for the dignity of each child as an individual.
Mrs. Betts further disclosed that she will be launching a funfair for orphanage kids in Makeni during the Easter holiday.
The fete party was organized for 300 less privileged children and orphans between the ages of two to ten years; the kids were very excited as they had lots of fun, food, and drinks on that day and they were able to smile, grin and laugh.
