Iranian Cultural Consul speaks on Mauloud Nabie [birthday of Prophet Mohamed]

The Iranian Cultural Consulate Mr. Mohamed Reza Ghezel Sofla (in photo), has urged Sierra Leoneans to embrace President Ernest Bai Koroma’s New Year to make the year a year of goodwill that will see Muslims and Christians coming together to work for the development of the country.

He made this statement on Friday, January 10 at the Iranian Cultural Centre at 25 Garrison Street in Freetown while addressing newsmen on the Mauloud Nabie which is the birth day of Prophet Mohamed [PBUH] which will fall on Monday, January 13.

He mentioned unity as one of the strongest legacies that Prophet Mohammad left for his people as he used his charismatic leadership to unite Arabs of different tribes most of whom were idol worshippers.

He noted that Sierra Leone is one of the countries in the world that has been celebrating this day for long time to show the love and respect they have for Prophet Mohammad.

He further emphasized that this celebration does not only promote Prophet Mohammad’s legacies and keep society dynamic but it also brought about benefits and blessings to the followers of Prophet Mohammad.

He noted that the occasion also teaches lessons which Muslims must use to develop themselves and the country .

The Cultural Consul maintained that the other great legacy left by the Prophet was Islamic monotheism which is the worshiping of only Almighty Allah.

On the gender perspective, Mr. Sofla said Prophet Mohamed treated every human being equally without barriers because of sex, colour, tribe or nationality.

He emphasized that Prophet Mohammad abolished slavery, brought political and religious tolerance, supported freedom and awakened consciousness human beings.

He pointed out that Prophet Mohammad was a statue of discipline all his life time and was the most patriotic and hardworking person, brave, generous, merciful, modest, humble, reliable and most comprehensive Pharmacist who cures all sorts of ailments .
