Immigration Chief gets award

The Chief Immigration Officer of the Immigration Department, Mr. Alpha Kholifa Koroma, has received an accolade from the association of staff members of the Department called The Immigration Family for what they described as his sincere, honest and diligent service to the department.

In an exclusive interview with this medium, the President of The Immigration Family, Mr. Peter K. Koroma explained that they unanimously decided to present the award to their boss because of his dynamic leadership in transforming the Department.

He explained that presentation of the award was done in December 2013 at a carnival event held at the frontage of their headquarters at Rawdon Street in Freetown.

He maintained that Mr. Alpha Kholifa Koroma is indeed up to the task in his appointment and the extension of his contract is definitely no mistake by President Koroma.

He stated that they have a lot to write home about in terms of income generation, improved conditions of service and increased vibrancy based on the efficient and effective standard operations of the Department.

“By no doubt our boss is taking the Department to an enviable peak, and for that reason we deemed it fit to present a meritorious award to him in the spirit of patriotism and motivation,” Peter L. Koroma stressed.

He disclosed that The Immigration Family is a newly established staff association founded in September 2013 with the objectives of promoting the welfare and seeking the interests of workers of the Immigration Department. He pointed out that they will work in concert with the objectives of the Department to actualize their goals.

He urged his colleagues to give off their best and compliment the efforts of Mr. Alpha Kholifa Koroma to make the Immigration Department a viable institution.
