Living Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “water for life in Jesus’ name” – the gospel of Jesus Christ – which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water is providing safe drinking water, Christian Witness, sanitation and health education to communities across Africa.  Living Water International Sierra Leone has a vacancy for a Country Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Strategic Direction by implementing the Country Strategy according to LWI strategic processes and operating standards maintaining an annual operating plan against which all program activities are measured.
• Provide Spiritual Leadership by modelling a high standard of personal Christian leadership, ministry and integrity through lifestyle and work relationships, and provide spiritual guidance to staff.
• Develop and manage the country operating budget by determining allocation of resources based on country strategic priorities.
• Offer Strategic Collaboration by contributing to LWI policy dialogue, ensuring policy and practices are consistent, and information regarding the regional locations and/or programmatic sector is provided.
• Ensure mandatory policies and procedures are implemented to LWI standards.
• Establish collaborative relationships to facilitate the efficient operations and the implementation of effective ministry for LWI. Provide technical assistance to the field, at the appropriate quality and level so that field staff can meet LWI standards.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree – international development, or equivalent (advanced degree is preferred);
• At least 10 years’  experience in a management position;
• Demonstrated ability to deal decisively with complex situations;
• Strategic thinker;
• Behavioral Competencies – passion and commitment to the Lord; ability to adapt easily to frequent change; positive outlook and the ability to work under pressure;
• Demonstrated ability to implement a country strategy in compliance with organizational strategy and agreed upon standards;
• Substantial business acumen in general management, financial management and operations with work experience in the WASH sector;
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills;
• Effective computer skills;
• Fluency in English is required;
• Cross culturally sensitive.
