16 clubs to battle for Lawyer Timbo trophy

16 clubs to battle for Lawyer Timbo trophy

Sixteen  football clubs mostly in Constituency 111 will commence a three week knock-out football gala at the Murray Town Playing Field in Freetown.

On the opening day on December 14th FC Abaleh will engage Lumley FC at 5:00 pm after the Motor Riders FC match against Okada- Off Riders FC in a friendly encounter which will kick- off at 3:00pm at the same venue.

On Monday, December 16, Cole Farm FC will engage Cockerel FC and on December 17th Murray Town FC will battle against Boston FC while Oloshoro FC will play a ding dong match against Cockle Bay FC on December 18.

On 19th December Aberdeen FC will lock horns with Congo Town FC while on December 21st Jets FC will battle against Wilkinson Road FC and on December 22 Murray Town FC will battle against Pump Line FC.

The final will commence on the December 27 culminating in the grand finale on January 5th  2014.

Speaking to this press, Lawyer Osman  A. Timbo said the purpose of the gala is to unite the youths together.

He explained that the gala has nothing to do with politics even though he is the Deputy Chairman of the All Peoples Congress (APC) in the Western Area comprising Constituencies 92-112.

“All I want to do is to pay back to my community as I’m a fan of football,” the Arsenal fanatic said.

The champion will bag the sum of two million Leones, gold medals and a trophy while runner-up will bag the sum of one million Leones, plus a trophy, and silver metals.

Best players will be awarded one hundred Dollars, plus a trophy and medal. The goal king also will take home one hundred Dollars plus a trophy and a medal.

Best goal keeper will be awarded with a golden globe and may likely benefit other packages. The Coordinators of this event are Messrs Collins and Macarthy.
