Bravo to SWASAL and Mercury International
Friday, 6th December, 2013 was a remarkable day at the Miatta Conference Hall in Freetown when the Sierra Leone Sports Writers Association (SWASAL) sponsored by the country’s number sports betting company, Mercury International, awarded attractive trophies to deserving male and female sports icons in the country.
Graced by Vice President, Alhaji Chief Samuel Sam Sumana, retired male and female sports stakeholders, the ceremony was a unique and colourful that at some point I thought it was the Grammy Awards night in America.
It would not have been so unique and colourful if Mercury International had not given strong financial support to SWASAL which is why they deserve to be highly commended.
We are aware of the huge financial assistance that Mercury has been given to SWASAL over the years for which as a country we are very grateful to them.
We hope that other companies will emulate the good example of Mercury International so that sports will be given a new lease of life to attain the highest level in the sporting world.
