NTDC Boss, Sally Mbanefo Seeks Regional Integration On Tourism Development Across Africa

This was disclosed during a tete-a-tete discussion with the Gambian minister of tourism, Hon. Miss Fatou  M. Njie  and Malawian  tourism minister, Hon. Moses Kunnuyu at the 2013 WorldTravel Market taking place in London.

 At the London’s world biggest annual tourism and travel event, Mrs Mbanefo stressed the need to have a well integrated database of tourism destinations across African countries in order to further strengthen investment drives in the continent.

She further shared some of the laudable progress NTDC has been recording recently in the areas of promoting domestic tourism among private investors vis a vis banks, hospitals  transport companies among others who have signified their interest in offering qualitative services  at affordable rates to both local and foreign tourists.

 In a cheerful disposition to visitors and exhibitors as well as tourism stakeholders attracted to Nigeria’s stand at the opening day of a four-day event, Mrs Mbanefo, said  “We have bad eggs in most countries of the world. Majority of Nigerians are friendly and hospitable people. Several non-Nigerians grew up or worked in Nigeria and they had fantastic experiences. We need such people as a boost to tourism in Nigeria.”

Miss Jise-Osita Azize, a Lebanese beauty pageant who grew up and spent over seventeen years in Nigeria was among those welcome to the Nigeria ‘s stand.

Mrs Mbanefo, a trained lawyer also met with a team of media professionals in the United Kingdom led by the Chairman, UK arm of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Europe  Chapter  NUJE, Mr Lashley Oladigbolu.

 “This is my first WTM event. I will appreciate the support of the media to promote my efforts to attract foreign investors and tourists for Nigeria. I will explain details during the press conference.” She explained.

 In his response the NUJE UK Chairman expressed his confidence over proactive giant strides the new Director General has taken so far in her identifiable area of strategies towards promoting investments in domestic tourism across the country.
The NTDC boss will hold a Press Conference at the Nigeria’s stand Wednesday 6th November, 2013 by 11am prompt.

World Travel Market is an annual event running from November 3rd to 7th and drafting all-important stakeholders into Excel Centre, London.

This year World Travel Market event is remarkably featuring the publicity towards the first ever launch of ‘Africa Travel Week’ scheduled to run from April 28th to May 3rd next year at the  Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Iyanya, Ayan De First are among the few artists who performed at the Nigeria’s stand in London at the opening day of WTM 2013 on Monday.
