Umar Sesay set for Chieftaincy declaration
6th November 2013 will be another memorable day for Umar Abdulai Sesay when, along with other contestants, will declare for the Paramount Chieftaincy election in Sanda Magbonlonthor Chiefdom, Port Loko District slated for 2nd December 2013.
This is the day aspirants will claim their legitimacy to contest the Paramount Chieftaincy election by claiming their right of hailing from a Ruling House.
The Campaign Manager of Umar Abdulai Sesay, Alhaji Kamara disclosed that a high-powered delegation would depart Freetown this week for Sanda Magbolonthor Chiefdom for the declaration ceremony.
He described Umar A. Sesay as a young man who has associated with the grassroots in the chiefdom that has made him a household name, disclosed that the entire chiefdom is making preparations to give him a hero’s welcome and recalled the recent ceremony in the chiefdom headquarter town of Sendugu where he was unveiled to the people as their candidate.
Alhaji Kamara further revealed that the chiefdom has been deprived of development for decades with no vibrant leader to advocate for them and expressed optimism that if elected, Umar A. Sesay would champion the cause of the chiefdom to facilitate development.
He added that election is not a fight or an occasion for violence or use of abusive language but for aspirants to canvass the people about their vision and plans to improve their welfare and community but cautioned that the days when politicians made fake promises are over reiterating that the people are eager for development which Umar Sesay would deliver.
According to Alhaji Kamara, Umar Abdulia Sesay hails from the Kinthur Ruling House reiterating that being young and dynamic, he would visit every part of the chiefdom to ensure effective service delivery.
Another member of the Campaign Team, Fatmata Sesay underscored that Umar Abdulai Sesay is the choice of the people maintaining that they would step-up their campaign strategy to convince more people to support him although their focus would be the Electoral College or Tribal Authorities.
