Bockari Stevens Presents Letter of Credence to Venezuela’s President Maduro

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador Bockari Kortu Stevens accredited to the United States of America, Canada and South America has presented his letter of credence to Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro on October 2nd 2013.

Making his presentation, Ambassador Stevens extended warm greetings from President Ernest Bai Korpma and expressed appreciation on behalf of government, for assistance in terms of scholarship particularly in the educational sector, which the Venezuelan government has awarded to Sierra Leoneans.

Ambassador Stevens said he is gratified because the beneficiaries are engaged in different fields of study including Agriculture, Medicine, Information Technology, Tourism and Sciences which are geared towards developing the Country.

Expressing the hope to receiving more scholarship for Sierra Leonean students, Ambassador Stevens said he spoke to beneficiaries of the scholarship and they are happy and satisfied, while expressing optimism about a stronger relationship between the two countries.

Responding, President Nicolas Maduro noted the warm sentiments expressed by Ambassador Stevens and said the bilateral relationship between the two nations has just started: more fruitful future cooperation is possible.

President Mauro extended warm greetings to President Ernest Bai Koroma, the Government and People of Serra Leone and assured the Ambassador of his country’s continuous support.

Earlier, Ambassador Stevens presented copies of letters of his credence to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela vice foreign and international cooperation minister in charge of Africa Affairs Reinaldo Jose Bolivar.

Accompanying Ambassador Stevens were his wife Mrs. Musu Stevens and Head of Chancery Mrs. Isatu Sillah.
