Kei Kamara seals Boro’s victory over Yeovil

Middlesbrough thrashed Yeovil 4-1 to clock their first victory of the season at Riverside, goals from Grant Leadbitter, Adomah, Jacob Butterfield, and new boy from Sierra Leone Kei Kamara sealed it with a powerful header from a corner.  (Photo: Kei Kamara in action)

Newly promoted Yeovil arrived having taken all five of their points on the road so far this season but was not able to resist the threat from Boro.

It was a scary start when the visitors took the lead from Liam Davis who superbly hit a shot with his left foot from outside the box to the centre of the goal past Boro’s keeper.

But determined Boro leveled quickly through Grant Leadbitter, then Albert Adomah stabbed them ahead after a penalty was saved.

It was from there the host was totally dominant with their second half display, Jacob Butterfield cracked home from a distance then Kei Kamara sealed it with a powerful header from a corne

This is Kamara’s third goal from as many games played so far for his new club and his manager is very much pleased with his attitude on the pitch.

Kamara has proved an instant hit.  It’s been a dream start for the 29-year-old striker, who will be hoping to keep his place every weekend.

“Kei’s scored goals, he’s looking fine, and he looked composed every time he had the ball, he looked a threat. I also thought he acquitted himself very very well, and today was a great goal with power, I think his athleticism added to his power and size is important, also his composure on the ball was good.” said manager Tony Mowbray.
