Sesay Compound FC lifts John Monrovia Trophy
Sesay Compound FC over the weekend hammered Army Workshop 3-1 at the Juba Barracks playing field to lift the John Monrovia Gold trophy.

Army Workshop FC became desperate in the second half as they took control of the match and in the process Figo scored for the Army Workshop FC mid second half.
In the dying minutes of the match, Ibrahim Sorie wrapped up the match when he scored the third goal for Sesay Compound FC with a stunning shot and the jam packed supporters who watched the grand final celebrated with Sesay Compound FC after the final whistle.
“I am delighted to have won the trophy because I have the best team which we deserve to smile,” he said, adding “entire team dedicated the trophy to my late sister Jane Sesay,” Mahmoud Sesay told this reporter.
The son of the former Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) running mate, Kadie Sesay said he will sponsor a football gala at the end of the year and that the trophy will be labelled “Jane Sesay Trophy”. He assures that her mother will stage the kick-off to commence the league.
Sesay Compound FC won the championship trophy, cash prizes and several individual awards including Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Best Right-back player, youngest player at the tournament, Man of the Match and Best Goalkeeper.
Sponsor of the league, Mr. John Monrovia said that he was impressed with the improvement and the display of individual talents in young players.
The Chief Organizer, Yusif Sei thanked all those who in their various ways contributed to the peaceful end of the John Monrovia league this year.
Officer in Charge E.M.E Workshop, Major M.A.B Koroma further thanked the Juba Military personnel for their courage and display of discipline though they lost to Sesay Compound FC in the grand finale.
