Tony Blair visits President Koroma
Sierra Leone’s virtual goodwill ambassador, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, arrived in Sierra Leone today and visited President Koroma at State House. Blair is in the country to further keep himself abreast with developments with regards good governance, transparency, health care, investment and tourism. He held fruitful bilateral discussions with President Koroma and afterwards met with the Minister of Finance, Minister of Trade and other private investment stakeholders including representatives from the Sierra Leone Import and Export Agency (SLIEPA).
Tomorrow, Mr. Blair will hold meetings with top government functionaries and institutional heads, the high point of which will be his attendance of the cabinet meeting. He will also have outdoor engagements, as he would meet with officials of DFID and the Commander of IMATT. He is also lined up to have meetings with the World Bank representative and the Executive Representative of the UN Secretary General.
Mr. Blair and his team will leave Sierra Leone late on Wednesday night.
